The very clever people behind the McQ label, by Alexander McQueen, have come up with an ingenious method of discovering new talent in advertising. The collection revolves around youth subcultures, so in order to tap into those roots, they jumped on the MySpace wagon. They chose 35 people, whose sites they admired, invited them in to see a showcase of the collection and then asked them to create an image or video inspired by the products. Alexander McQueen then chose his favourite 8 pieces, which then became the global print ad campaign. Some of the artists' original work is shown below and the resulting print ads above. Go to the McQ website to see the ready-to-wear range and the stunning slide show of MySpace artists.
